And in our belief, in these thirty-two years that have passed, through rhythms, this miniature of timeless time remains, “without a doubt”, through prayerful complicity.
For we are called to remain, to be, to continue, to persevere in one way, another, and yet another… through people, and others, and still others, without faltering in our commitment to humanity, despite the attempts of our surroundings –at different times and eras- that besieged our sacred space through thoughts, words, deeds, and omissions.
But something… –something?- something was driving us on, incited us on, calling us to continue. To carry on toward unknown paths. To innovate, to promote, to change, to modify, and at the same time, to preserve.
And to be there when the call came.
And to configure ourselves –without that being any pretension or without being a pretension- as a small beacon, as a guiding light that, in addition to shaping us, configuring us, becomes a reference for others who pass by, who journey through, who come, who go, who stay, who leave…
Our configuration… leaves no one indifferent.
And, undoubtedly, by saying “ours” we are referring to the imprint that the Prayerful Call impresses upon us!
And it leads us to become a sacred project, striping us of personal importance or the human notion of what is done, and why it is done, and why it is not done…
And each prayer shapes our stance regarding all that happens in humanity.
And thus, we become responsible, testimonial, and original. Because, certainly, we do not depend on the ways, the fashion, the trends, or the obligation of the moment… although we listen to them.
Our positions are not those of confrontation or indifference. They are of prayerful inspiration
Consequently, they challenge logic, reason, established perspectives. A challenge that is not a confrontation, is not a demonstration; it is a trajectory, an active stance, always alert.
And oh!... Today, as we dwell in a magma of unrest, as they seek to universalize despair, rage, violence, war, dependent protectionism, ongoing insecurity, constant dependence based on an overload of information, based on incessant dependency, based on using and discarding, based on contempt for incapacity, based on exaltation, on heroism… we are witnessing a humanity without the texture of harmony, balance, progress, discovery.
Undoubtedly, there are corpuscles of searching… and of reconciling with what is believed life to be, and different ways of living it.
But domination, control, and power are… immense.
And they reach everywhere.
And it is useless to resist
Losing is the norm.
These are variables of humanity that now predominate.
And the minorities within the minorities within the minorities must learn to share, coexist, and get along with that other, punishing, omnipresent, omnipotent humanity…
Showing our –which is not personal, but inspired- humanity with resources, with projects, with theory… and knowing how to listen at the same time to what is progressing, what is growing, what is dominant, what is promising.
It is not an enemy…
It is the development of vain, proud hedonism, born of intelligence, achievements, and personal importance. A variable that has become dominant. But it is not an enemy. It is humanity!…
And if we stop seeing it as an enemy, it will have less and less need to attack us.
And it will seek, according to the criteria of its dominance, to learn about our criteria, for the benefit it can provide.
This is how respect can be cultivated.
And, consequently, to continue with the revealed positions of prayer, bringing light to the darkness, knowing how to analyse dark environments, and signalling clarity… that create information, formation, opinion, and the generation of criteria.
Which undoubtedly will generate controversies, opinions, but they will not be enemies.
If there are no enemies, there are no battles.
Being called to pray is an unexpected privilege that awakens us to positions that may sometimes seem familiar, but are never the same.
They always add the detail, the aspect… or the details or the innovation… that modify positions and attitudes.
I arrive and I know how I arrive, because I am called. I don't know how I leave.
And we could conclude with something that is known, but… actually incorporating it remains distant, highly circumstantial:
If we are a product of Creation, which inhabits a universe, and which resides in a particular place, which is constantly being created, any vicissitude we go through that causes us discomfort, adversity, worry, anguish, or fear, has its antidote in prayer.
How often do we say: “Well, I don’t know what to do about this. I’ll go here, I’ll go there, I’ll ask this, I’ll ask that”.
Fine, fine, fine! That’s all right! But before all that, you are being called. “You are being called”, from Creation, to become aware of being created, of inhabiting universes, of being an exquisite selection born from a need conceived by a Creative Mystery.
Come… to pray.
The call is constant and persevering.
It demands no conditions.
It can be done in any situation: bus, subway, standing, lying down…
